A Strong Start to the Year for Ascenso Sponsored Clay Pigeon Shooter Kallum Burrell
Article written by Ascenso Tyres UKBack in December, Ascenso Tyres UK announced their continued sponsorship of Champion Clay Pigeon Shooter Kallum Burrell, as the season starts to ramp up it seemed a good time to catch up with Kallum’s year so far.
In his first big competition of the year, the first of the England Sporting Selection Shoots on the 18th & 19th March, Kallum finished the first day with a score of 87/100 and came in as Top Junior for the day, he finished the weekend overall as 2nd in the Juniors and joint 45th overall out of 359 competitors. Kallum commented: “The first big competition of the year and it couldn’t have gone much better, an 87/100 shows room for improvement but when compared to scores of others it definitely shows a good result. It was a very good start to the season!”
In the run up to the season, Kallum has been working with his new coach Ed Solomons, in addition to regular weekly practices to put new principles into place. Kallum has also been utilising his university scholarship, BSc Sports and Exercise Science, which gives him nutritional, psychological and strength and conditioning support, to ensure he is best prepared for the season ahead.
According to Ascenso Tyres UK, some of their “key customers are in the farming industry, and with clay pigeon shooting being a popular sport amongst UK farmers, supporting Kallum who is from a farming background himself as well as a keen member of the Young Farmers seemed only right.”
